Saving one
Receipt capture is part of VanlyGo Pro. Add the supplier, the amount and the date, then attach a photo of the receipt before it goes soft in the van.
You can optionally link the receipt to a customer, an estimate or an invoice, and tag it with a category such as Materials, Fuel, Tools or Other.
Finding it later
Receipts are listed newest first with the supplier, date and amount, so the merchant run you are looking for is usually on the first screen. Open one to see the photo and whatever you linked it to.
What VanlyGo does not do
VanlyGo does not read the receipt for you. There is no scanning, no automatic text recognition and no automatic categorisation — you type the figures you want to keep. That also means the numbers are the ones you chose, not a guess.
This is a record of what you spent, not bookkeeping. VanlyGo Pro can export a spreadsheet when you want to hand something to your accountant.
Questions
Does the app scan the receipt automatically?
No. There is no OCR in VanlyGo. You photograph the receipt and type the supplier, amount and date yourself.
Is receipt capture included with Free?
No. Photographing and storing receipts is a VanlyGo Pro feature.
Can I attach a receipt to a job?
Yes. A receipt can optionally be linked to a customer, an estimate or an invoice, so it sits with the work it belongs to.
Will this file my tax return?
No. VanlyGo is not accounting or tax software and makes no compliance guarantees. Pro can export a spreadsheet for whoever does your books.
